Use Business as a Force for Good — Programs to Help
Together, the partners of the SDG Idea Factory offer the following entrepreneurial and small business programs to help you make a difference:
Starter Company: Got a business that’s ready for sales or ready to expand? An intense, three-month program concludes with an opportunity for you to pitch for up to $5,000.
Summer Company: If you are between the ages of 15 to 29 years old and want to build your own business from the start, Summer Company is an opportunity for you to build your business using sound practices. There’s an opportunity to receive $3,000 in funding. Application deadline is May 8, 2023.
LiftOff Black Entrepreneurship Program: Designed to support Black entrepreneurs from the earliest stages of starting a business to innovating, growing and scaling an existing business.
Impact Investments: For businesses and organizations looking to generate social or environmental impact alongside a financial return, the Waterloo Region Community Foundation may be willing to invest in your growth.
ForUsGirls Foundation: For young women and girls from diverse social backgrounds who want to learn programming skills; create community projects and social impact businesses; or build self-confidence, self-esteem, and healthy relationship habits, ForUsGirls Foundation can help.
K-W Oktoberfest: Interested in supporting the cultural, economic and social vitality of Waterloo Region? Learn how to be a part of our community-owned festival who celebrates traditions, enriches our community and supports others.
